Anyone know of good alternatives to Onetel or BT Voicemail please?
Onetel used to be very good but have recently changed the format supposedly for the better but the service is unreliable, abrupt and very unuser friendly. Onetel also couldn't care less if one complains.

I went back to using an answering machine some time ago because it annoyed me that I couldn't turn 1571 off so callers weren't charged when I was in but engaged on another call.
I found a quite stylish (well, the wife approved!) LST/answering machine with a music on hold button (very handy for those cold callers who get past the TPS) on ebay. Total control, record your own OGM or use pre-recorded ones.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Cant get your answering machine link to work!!PF.0 -
Thanks for replying! As run my own business from home and use the line a lot, having Voicemail when engaged is very useful. I'm really looking for a remote but flexible service. I looked on the web but got blown away by the sheer volume of technical jargon and came away not much the wiser.0
