do i get backdated dla ,letter donit say i will

hi, i just been awarded dla and i received letter today telling me but there is no mention of any backdating ...i applied for it in november..will i get it backdated ..thankyou

I would give them a ring and ask. Does it give you a date when it will start.
If it does i would ask them to backdate it.

i just had another look at letter and it says i have been awarded it from november 2008 but there is no mention of back dated payment..

Generally... DLA will be paid from the date the application was recieved UNLESS you contacted them and asked for an application form to be sent and got the application form back by the date written on the top of the form.

I of course, being spectacularly likely to hit any glitch in the system, had my first 3 months disallowed because I was expected to get better within the year...?!?! No, I don't get that either, I'm applyed because I was disabled, not because I wouldn't be!

if it says you have been awarded it since November then that means it is backdated to November and you will be paid accordingly, i presume straight into your bank, dont spend it all at once. :j :j
