Well I'm going to count today as a NSD even though I've just spent £15 in Bradfords the Baker. No, listen first, listen..........:D

My aim is to reduce my grocery spending and I'd like to "ringfence" my total as much as I can for the month, thus giving me guidance going forward.

As it's my Happy Birthday today I decided to treat my workmates to cakes and, go figure, I went to the dearest cake shop in the town. M&S would have got me enough for a fiver!! Also, the fact that DH went to M&S on his way home from work this morning and purchased flowers for DS to give me will go uncounted (for the purposes of Grocery Challenge anyway:o )

Just popped on to update signature, as I went to Mr A's this morning, and I'll have to be very careful next week ;) I have organised a little storage room that's off the kitchen this month though and put shelves up so I have a pantry/stock pile. Its working out very well, I have enough cereal, rice, pasta, lentils, pearl barley, bleach, washing up liquid, tinned stuff & washing powder to last a fair while. It should let me have a just the basics shop next week (around £50) and nobody will hopefully notice the difference :rotfl:

I'm just about to make a Spag Bol for tea with lots of added grated carrots & peppers to con some veg into the kids  :D

    Afternoon all

Spent a little more today only milk as expected...so 7 x 1lt of fresh milk @55c so €3.85 - so that should see us through to the end of the month -so a total of €49.06 spent with 8 days to go and nothing more we should need as far as I can see :j -although I won't declare -not tempting fate ;)
hubby is out on exercise tonight -playing at being the enemy  -and on duty all day thursday-until friday morning -so thats a bit more of a saving as its 2 meals cancelled from the meal plan and 2 lunches :rotfl:....

Im looking forward to the warmer weather and getting the veggies in full flow... i have even saved myself having to spend about €50 on a hosepipe (not cheap to buy out here) as my nextdoor neighbour only uses hers to fill the dogs paddling pool occasionaly-so she said i could use hers and she will just pinch it back when she needs it :T So I'm going to supply her with salad stuff as and when she needs it (once it gets going) -she is on her own for 8 months so it won't make much difference -baring in mind I will have 40 tomato plants :rotfl:-oooohhh its awful how addictive saving money can get :D
hope everyone is doing well -off to update my signature ;)

Had a NSD today and planning a quick store cupboard dinner as their is only me & DS here.

Planning for tomorrow to also be a NSD and to do some baking with DS as well as some batch cooking. Think I'll spend this evening planning my cooking, to make the most of my time and the oven being on.
