Trying to reclaim unfair bank charges.

I am being frustrated by the inaction by LloydsTSB. Despite writing to them on countless occasions highlighting I meet the "hardship" test they are refusing to deal with my claim. Has anyone else had this problem having established that they meet the "hardship" rule? If they continue to refuse what are my options?

I have finally sent my letter demanding the return of my First Direct bank charges (£2298) from the last 6 years. It feels really cheeky doing it, but I've got nothing to lose and the money would be a massive help for me this year. I know that banks aren't paying out at the moment but at least I 'll have my claim in for when they and if they do- Knowing my luck they wont ! Like you Bob i've claimed under the hardship guidelines aswell, how long since you sent your initial claim ?0

Jim, never lose hope or think that you are unlucky. The banks' are under no obligation to make any payout to claimants, however, they may suspend or partially refund charges if you are in financial hardship. They should send you and Income and expenditure form to complete(though not all banks seem to work this way). Good luck and keep us updated.0
