Assistance with long weekend to Barcelona

Looking for some help to get good accomodation and hints/tips while in Barcelona.

Looking to head across the the Sonar Festival in mid-June. Going to fly from Glasgow and quite happy to dig out cheap flights quite easily!

Can anyone recommend some good accomodation in Central Barcelona?

I think there will be at least 3 of us going, possibly as much as 5 or 6. We'd be quite willing to share a dorm type room.

There were 4 of us in a 6 bed apt in the Gothic Quarter (right off Placa Real) which was central to everything and felt safe enough for 4 girlies.

Worked out about £14 a night for 4 of us for 3 nights, but then if there are 6 of you it would be even cheaper. There are also cheaper apartments than the the 'Gothic Blue' one that we stayed in.

And I take it you know that Globespan fly there direct ?? I got my flights cheap through them.

alison74 got it bang on, we 5 of us went there and used that website, might have even been same apartment as we stayed in same location, spar is two doors down and its a stones throw from several irish pubs if you want to catch up with news at home.

I'm also off to Barcelona next month for a week with 5 of my mates. Booked our accomodation through https://www.hostelworld.com. Loadsa good, central, cheap hostels on offer around Barcelona with excellent reviews. I've used the site b4 to book hostels in Dublin, Amsterdam & Berlin & it is very, very good. Only have to pay 10% of the total when booking & the balance is paid on arrival. We opted for Kabul hostel in Barcelona which is situated on Placa Real, just off Las Ramblas. Looks very good, & has good ratings & reviews on the site. Regardless of which one u's choose, & depending on the size of dorm u's book into, I'd imagine u should be paying no more than bout €20 per person per night.

P.S Would love to make it to that Sonar event too. Looks awesome!! Has this year's line-up been announced yet??

While you are there try taking a tour with Rabbies - tours. https://www.rabbies.eu.com
Lets you see a bit of the countryside and even have a dip in the med while you are there - ideal if you have a late flight home

No, the line=up hasn't been announced, but you're pretty much guaranteed the best of the best!!! Even if the Sonar lineup isn't up to scratch, there are so many parties on at the same time that you can't fail to have a good time!

Going by reports from friends and colleagues who have gone in previous years, it's an excellent weekend in a stunning city!!! :money:
