dumplings are easy, chuck 'em in 20 mins before you want to eat!lol
cmc, they're not just for winter food, once you get used to yours you can do anything in it, I did sausages in tomato/herb sauce last week and threw in pasta 25 mins before we were eating, it was really yummy and nicely cookedJust become FTBs & Aiming to be mortgage free by 2034

Well done Gemma,
I would not be without my slow cooker, had it for years (engagement pressie about 17 yrs ago), cook nearly anything in it.
Toni, Beth is 11 and is size 6, my shoe size, and a nightmare, she will keep trying my shoes on!!!!!

Ouch Toni! I remember those days, Matt's 6' 4" so you can imagine how his feet grew at Evan's age
It must be slow cooker day! (mine's Mother's AWT one that was too big for her after my beloved 6.5l Morphy Richards one packed up through overuse a few months ago aged 6)
In mine, which smells delicious at present is:
£2 worth of braising steak (more than enough for 4 in this recipe :money:)
2 sweet potatoes
2 parsnips
1 small swede
5 carrots
1 large onion
3 tablespoons split lentils
1 can of butterbeans
1 can of chickpeas
1 pint of beef oxo stock
And have just put in the dumplings for the boys (too fattening for me and DD)
I don't know how anyone can live without theirs, I have used one since the before the kids were born so at least 30 years, my first one was a free gift from Freemans catalogue lolThat ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free0 -
I wouldn't know where to begin with a slow cooker :rotfl:
do you just turn it on in the morning and leave it? I'd be a bit worried about that, being out all day and it on.. does it not munch up electricity? (I'm on a stinge-drive atm, much to the OH's grumbles, turning lights off behind him when he leaves rooms etc)

TBH I don't know about how much it costs to run, maybe I should
But that lot above, I literally cut up at 8am this morning and just bunged it all in on top of each other poured on the stock switched in on and left it. It's so easy Gemma, and fantastic if you're at work all day and want to come home to a dinner that's readyThat ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free0
