Sally , if you are doing forced marriage in UK , there is also the immediate family consequence,From what I read in the press, but this may be exaggerated, ma in law condones and even takes part in the violence, if you resist or stray, there are the family, brothers who are willing to kill for family honour, the fear is greater than a standard UK marriage. Many Girls who stray and chose forbidden love have to go into hiding for fear of their life, not from husband abuse but from brothers and fathers. This is a massive subject that you are studying.0

Well, I've got through 20 pages of comps, and broken my duck on my winning streak:j
Won the coffee hamper. Woohoo.
Lets hope it's the start of a few coming in.
Gonna go to bed in a while, as trying to sort the whole house out whilst I'm on annual leave this week.
Attacking the living room tomorrow and trying to keep the kids toys upstairs! Although I know after a few days things will start to make their way down again.:rotfl:

Yep, wanted to choose a topic that i could write alot about, and forced marriages, and domestic violence are both interesting, controversial and alot of info on the net, and in the media!
Heard of loads of cases of forced marriages over the years...most end up going through with the marriages they're not happy with, but those that point-blank refuse to get married, or try to escape are either disowned by the whole family, or are hurt/murdered, nearly always by male family members!0 -

Yep the forced marriages act came out last year to protect victims of forced marriages, get them the help they need, and move them to a place of safety.
