I can't. The agency won't tell me who the landlord is so I cannot write to him/her to ask to be released fro my contract. The agency promise to sue me for cirminal damage if I put a lock on my door and the last time I asked them to keep the noise down they trashed my room to the tune of £4000 when I was out.

OMG!!!! This is just not acceptable/illegal, and it is illegal of the agency to turn a blind eye to this too!!! I would move out anyway and pay them nothing whatsoever. Did you take photos of your room when it was trashed? Did you write to the agency?
This is just insane! Keep everything documented in case you need to challenge them in court?

Woks glad things are back to normal, you are doing great x hope little Woks enjoys his new bedroom :D

    Hi Cathy.

The other day when I posted in here and asked you about how your diet was going, the phone went and I completley forgot to come back. :o

    Kittykat: How is your back?
It is a scientific fact that your body will not absorb calories if you take it from another person's plate.

Oh good, glad it's not so difficult as I thought! We're in a villa and checked and we don't need towels (even if there aren't pool towels we'll just buy a cheap one each from walmart). Planning on buying smellies. My worry is we want to shop when we're there (including shoes). Gonna pack the case with 20kg just to see how much that is in clothing/shoes and then take most of it out.

I can't believe they trashed your room!! Surely that would be grounds for their removal if you could be sued for installing a lock on your door. How long is your contract for?

Til June. They are not at all interested so I have taken videos and photos and the police know; it's all on file and when I move out I am takign action.

I won't see my deposit back either due to the continual trashing of the house but the agency can spin on it f they try and get more money out fo me because I am suing THEM when I move out too; for breach of contract.

That's ridiculous!! Have you spoken to a lawyer or contacted the CAB?

Hand luggage is 5kg but I'll have the camera (DSLR) so that's all gone. When we went before camera bags and handbags didn't count as hand baggage but they do now.

It is annoying as we were booked with TCD with upgraded seats etc which meant we had 30kg hold luggage and wouldn't have to worry at all - but when they went bust we rebooked with Thomas Cook airlines, they have no upgrades available and their baggage limit is 15kg with the option of buying an extra 5kg max, which we've done.

Anyway, not letting it bother me too much. It's the holiday I'm going for anyway, not the clothes I'm taking with me!! And less weight will make my case easier to carry!!
