UK Hotel/Accomidation with seperate sleeping area or bedroom for Kids

Something I've always found is a pain when we look for a hotel in the UK is somewhere where the kids have either a separate sleeping area, or a completely separate bedroom. When you have young kids, you don't really want to go to sleep at 7-8 when they do!

I am aware of a few so far, Holiday Inn Chessington, Butlins Hotel and I think there is a Best Western at Gatwick that offers this.

Was wondering if anyone else knew of any others?

I'm afraid that this is a legal issue and has tightened up over the past 5yrs. Hotels are not allowed to let a room where there will not be an adult staying in the room, so the best you can really hope for is a family suite or interconnecting rooms which many hotels supply.
I remember the first time I had a room to myself on holiday with the family and I was 12. That just wouldn't be allowed now.

    Thanks.

I did however mean more of a suite with a seperate bedroom with a 'Room' rather than two actual rooms, though as you say interconnecting rooms is still a possibility.

where do you want to stay? I know the SAS at Stansted has them - they are lovely 2 interconnecting room corner suites - the second room was a living room, with a full size wall fold down double bed, & large corner sofa.
I've also been to a couple of family hotels in cornwall - Sands & Bedruthan Steps- that had them, along with early kids teas, creches etc.
If you book rooms in the Hilton, I they offer 1/2 price for the second interconnecting room for children - although this doesn't work with their cheap internet special offers - I think it's only over the phone.

Hilton one sounds interesting, might give them a call.

We were not looking for anywhere in particular, but thinking about travelling around the UK a bit, staying in different places each night instead of going abroad on holiday this year.

Big Blue Hotel at blackpool looks OK too, anyone have any views on this? (I know Blackpool is a bit garish, but it would just be for one night and kids would probably love it  )

The Swallow Imperial at Jesmond, Newcastle have a nice family room which includes a separate bedroom for the kids, but they don't seem to advertise it on their website.

The Holiday Inn Stratford has a room (maybe more than one!) with a main room that has double bed and an area off that with bunkbeds.
Also, Copthorne Birmingham has 2 twins that interconnect (one might be a double, can't remember), so you could leave the door open if you wished.

Not sure whether you were looking generally or specifically?
