Eco 20:20
We are existing customers of EDF on fixed tariff and phoned up to transfer to ECO20:20 with cheaper electricity after 9pm but were told we would be taken off the fixed rate first. They couldn't tell me if it would work out cheaper or not so we declined does anyone know of a magic formula so we can work it out ourselves. We were not impressed!!

I don't see how anyone could tell you if it'd be cheaper. It would depend on how much electricity you'd use evenings and weekends. If the cheap rate was cheaper, I'd go for it. Most of our electricity is evening use and appliances. I'd run the washing machine and dishwasher later and both are use more at weekends anyway.
I've just switched to EDF's online tariff as that works out cheapest for us - the 20/20 shows a much smaller saving. I could probably make it better by more evening use but there's not a lot of difference between the cheap rate and the online tariff's secondary tier rate.0 -
Thanks for that, gives me another option to look at.0

Will vary regionally - try comparison site using actual annual kwh and then double check individual tariffs.0
