Insurance company say my nc bonus is less than it really is

i don't know what the percentages are for each year of NCD so lets for the sake of arguement say it's 30%, 40%, 50% 55% 60% for each year up to 5. It's still 60% after 6 years and still 60% after 26 years. So when you make a claim at any point after reaching maximum you lose two years worth of NCD and drop back to that level. In this case you'd go from 60% back to 50%. Effectively you HAVE gone from 11 to 3 years NCD but you'd go back to 3 years regardless of where you were at before claiming.
Really - I won't argue about the step back procedure but can i suggest you do a generic quote on "A.N.Other" comparison site with 5 years NCD and then 11 years NCD.
On Confused, using my own details (32 y.o policyholder + 31 y.o partner / Seat Leon 1.8 petrol / kept on drive in Leeds postcode ) gave a difference of £71 between the top quotes.
Just wish that all the insurers would agree on a NCD bonus scale to give us all a level playing field - but i think there's more chance of an end to world famine!!Top Tip is £450 away from clearing the overdraft and being debt free0 -

1. There would be a difference.
2. It wouldn't be interesting.0
