Just canceled my Intelligent Finance VISA card tonight. They're owned by Halifax, and I'd be interested in applying for the Halifax One card. Would I be right in thinking that I can now do this given that I've cancelled the IF card? Or would I be better to wait a few months to allow Experian/Equifax to catch up with their "Settled" status.
TIA,
Phil

I have both Halifax and Bank of Scotland cards - all HBOS. Shouldn't really be a problem0

I have three Halifax cards. My brother in law has a Halifax and an IF card.
So there is no problem (apart from if you wanted to transfer a balance between them).0 -
Does anyone know how long you need to wait before reapplying for the same card? I have cancelled my one card but plan to upgrade my IF card in July (when I've had it a year).0

I had a similar question. Yesterday I telephoned to cancel some H-BOS cards I no longer use, and asked their advice. They suggested waiting 30 days so that their records show that the old cards are cancelled, and then applying.0
