Not sure if this is the correct thread!
I have decided to clean the inside of ny car this weekend properly rather than a quick hoover and a spray of Pledge multisurface!
I am gonna tackle all the seats that have over the years been subject to toddler accidents, fruitshhots, milkshakes and muddy feet! Problem is I do not know where to start. I have a bottle of upholstry cleaner but does anyone have any tips? I do not want to just spread the dirt out and end up with water stains and a soggy car!!

You need a wet vacuum cleaner, otherwise you'll just increase the size of any stains.0

Do what my parents did when I was a kid - ban sweeties etc from the car.0

You can hire the machines for carpets, from Homebase.
If you've a sofa & carpet that needs doing & maybe a neighbor has theres needing it too, get together & share the cost.
But expect to have to leave car windows open - atleast a bit- 'cos they will be all condensation for days, even if you think you got the seats dry!!

start by stopping food / drink from the car!0

Or pay about £40,and get a valet company in.

Thanks for your replies. Unfortunatly we regulary drive to grandparents (about 4 hours) and across france (about 8 hours) banning food is a NO NO:rotfl:
I am very tempted to get a profesional valet to do it. We have wooden floors throughout and a leather sofa so hiring a machine would be a waste. Will tentativley approach DH with the idea:D0 -
the cheap steam cleaners you can get from jml and the like are great for cleaning upholstery ,they are also good for disguising stains and water marks even if only for a few weeksHi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
