can i demand my redundancy

We have just been told we are now going to be put on 2and a half day working week we have been working a three day week prior to this. i have heard that in this case we can request our redundancy is this true?

As far as I know, you have to be doing less than half of your current contract for at least 4 consecutive weeks, before you can put in a notice of intention to claim.

Am assuming that your employer had the contractual right to put you on short time working in the first place?0
