Reformat Sky+ hard drive

My sky+ box is playing up i've been told it needs to be reformatted . Can i do this without phoning sky

i think this is it.
unplug the box
hold in left and right arrow buttons on box together
plug in mains
wait for green light to come on in middle of the box
press back up on the box
wait for the fromat, takes 5 - 10 mins0 -
Mine playing up so just done a Full system reset and that sorted it, you do lose all recordings though.
Services > 4 > 0 > 1 > Select.... Press them one after the other... then it's 8 Full system reset.
You can try the housekeeping option first which doesn't wipe all but that didn't work for me.0
