Parquet Flooring repair

The parquet along one wall had to be removed, now its time to re-lay.

The parquet is the small wooden strips approx 3 inches long. When their down , all covered by new carpet

The question /problem, with what do you stick the wood down with.
Im thinking ...... no more nails:D
Not the professional way, but as stated, its only to form a base for a underlay/carpet.

Any other ideas.... or even the correct way!

Making sure they are cleaned up properly to ensure they lay nice and evenly, any type of adhesive for timber like you suggested will do the trick. If it is just being covered though, you could mix a sand/cement screed ( strong mix ) and fill with that. A lot quicker and probably easier to get the required level.
  • Go to your local hardware supplier and ask for parquet flooring adhesive its black and sticky. Wear gloves. I have down a little bit at home and it does make a mess that is cleaned up with white spirit.. Found a useful link for you, http://www.diynot.com/pages/fs/fs016.php#a3
