An 845-million-pound deal between British jet engine maker Rolls-Royce and Hainan Airlines of China was announced Friday as British and Chinese firms signed deals worth up to 1.33 billion pounds.

    Oh no! a sleepless night for the bears then, could you not have added a story about a child being mauled by a dog or something to soften the blow for them.

    I work for Rolls-Royce and have to say what recession? we are so busy and just keep winning orders also we make profits which is unusual these days.
    Just been told we are not getting our full bonus though because £880 million profit was not enough.

    My DH works for Rolls Royce too, seems strange that they are doing well this time round when every other recession there were redundancies. Probably shot themselves in the arm with that though as the average age at the Bristol site is 45+!
