Graduating this summer? What are you going to do next?

I'm graduating this summer from Nottingham Uni. Im doing a BSc Economics, and I've applied for ACA training contracts in Audit or Tax at the big 4 comps, and a few banks (lol). Ive had interviews at all the big 4, and got rejected from the banks (old boy clubs are hard to get into!).
Hopefully will get an offer from one of them, and will hopefully start work in London.
Then I have at least 3 years of proper slogging before I can get a decent job as a charted accountant!0 -

I suspect that if you have got that sort of training you might find that there are plenty of jobs in insolvency at the moment!2009 wins: Cadburys Chocolate Pack x 6, Sally Hansen Hand cream, Ipod nano! mothers day meal at Toby Carvery! :j :j :j :j0 -
I'm graduating this year too, hopefully with a 2.1 BSc Psychology!
I think I'm going to apply for a Secondary Biology PGCE, as graduating into a recession and trying to find a decent job is going to be veeery difficult and I realise that there are thousands of others in the same position as me, what makes me so different?
Theres a £9k training bursary and I'll be training for a profession which will hopefully get me a good salary after finishing!
I'm hopefully doing 3 weeks paid experience in a school (Student Associates Scheme) to make sure this is really right for me, after all, I will be paying another £3k+ in tuition fees!
Good luck everyone!0 -

Does this mean you haven't applied yet, or are you hoping to go in 2010? Have you checked whether there are still vacancies and if your Psychology degree will be acceptable for Biology?0 -
I took part in the student associates scheme and loved it! I graduate in July with a BSc in Biology and have a place to do a secondary PGCE in Biology. I am getting quite excited about it! :j0

There are still places at the Uni I want to apply for (LJMU), and I hope to get my application together next week, when I know whether I've been accepted for the SAS or not (I can use this on my application as evidence of classroom experience, or at least an intention of classroom experience!)
As I'm doing the SAS with LJMU I'm guaranteed an interview, whether it ends up being this year (hopefully!) or next year.
And yes they've said my degree is fine since it's a bachelor of science (psychology as a subject is over 50% science based anyway)0 -

There are 11 of us graduating from my course this year, and we have been offered a choice of 18 jobs by the local authority. We have one interview, and can apply for as many posts as we like, and then they will let us know which ones we have been accepted for :j Glad that there's going to be a job out there after 4 years of study!0
