  • Reckon I need to get myself a bigger mattress, I feel a visit to the I want to buy it or do it board coming on.

No need for that Eddie, the secret is to spread the wads out evenly underneath the mattress. I also find a bit of gaffer tape helps to keep them in place and stop them migrating into the middle.
Edit: I assumed you meant a thicker mattress.

I haven't seen any announcements about free cash withdrawals abroad stopping in May/June - where was this announced?

  • Nationwide Instant Cash ISA now paying just 0.5% on balances up to £9,999

The good news - that rate increases to 0.7% for balances over £25,000 :rotfl:

  • Two things I can safely predict

!) The directors of N/W will pay themselves a lot of money this year

    2) I will have removed all my remaining money out of N/W by the end of Feb

Where the hell are they going to put my £10,000 in fixed rate ISA @ 6.25% when it matures in May?

    :(:(:(

Also, they've just approved me for a £2000 credit card - I earn about 3.5x that in a year - and I can now see why if they're axing fee free foreign transactions :(
So THAT's why they were so keen to give me a Visa debit card out of the blue after declining me when I asked for one!

You will have to be quick, only two and a half hours to get it moved away from the Nationwide before we are in March. ;)

I moved all mine out yesterday, had a feeling this was coming.

I'm disappointed to see that Nationwide has lowered their rates to the minimum and are planning to charge fees on Visa use abroad. At the moment it only applies to purchases but they are "reviewing" free debits from foreign ATM machines. The free overseas rules were the only perk worth having and when that ends, so will a lot of customers' accounts with them.

The problem is - where are any better rates?

    Seconded.

I have already opened an A&L current account and will probably open their Esaver account to sweep up spare cash.

I currently operate NW Flexaccount and eSave - but not next month!
