Alteration Costs due to change of Travel Plans

Hi

Hopefully someone can help!

I have my honeymoon booked in August this year through an online travel agent. The booking includes everything, hotel flights etc

Due to work, I am having to change this to another date.

What costs am I expected to pay for this change and is there anyway of avoiding them?

Really need your feedback on this. First time I'm using this forum so please let me know also if this is even the best place to post my question!

Thanks

Baber

    Hello and welcome to MSE

I should think the best people to answer your question accurately are the travel agents that you have booked with.

Hi which tour operator are you travelling with and are they scheduled or chartered (package) flights. Thomas cook are giving a free change at the moment don't know about the others usually £30/£40 per change per person. Scheduled flights and low cost carriers are a bit trickier can be non changeable non refundable, i too would ask who you booked it with.

You say 'due to work'. If they have changed your agreed dates then they should really pay the costs involved.
  • We booked through Destinology, and we've booked a package deal, which includes the flights. When I read the refund policy, it appears that it would cost us around £150 per person to alter the booking and then something about another £150pp for flight changes - heres the web link to their refund policy - http://www.destinology.co.uk/refund-policy.aspx

dzug1, I'm hoping they can sort something out but its unlikley :-(

Providing you have a refundable ticket - a lot of air tickets are non-refundable/changeable.
