Last time EDF put up its prices, it affected different tariffs at different times. For example London Energy Online was increased on the 31st October but other tariffs went up in June.
I think we'll have to wait and see on this one.0 -
According to UK Power's update page, London Energy ONLINE tariffs are not affected by this price rise. :beer:

Told a friend of mine about this as he is contemplating a change.
He rang London Energy general Sales enquiries line on 0800 096 9000(option 9) and was told this is incorrect they go up the same amount. I rang and got exactly the same answer - they go up.
If you look at the announcement on London Energy or EDF websites it makes no mention of on-line tariffs being exempt. Yet other comparison sites say the same as jem16 has posted.
I wonder who is correct?0 -

The main problem is that the online tariff is only available via the comparison sites. If you phone London Energy/EDF you will only get the standard tariffs. So it's equally possible that their sales lines are saying all tariffs go up as they don't have details of the online one anyway.
At the moment I don't know although I have emailed to find out.0 -
OK couldn't wait for an email reply so I phoned.
There are some tariffs exempt from the price increase including the Online tariff. The very helpful lady in CS read out the circular to me and said that I am definitely not affected.0 -

I wish I could guarantee that it would stay like that!
The CS advisor and I had a nice chat. I asked her if she was inundated with people phoning about the price increase but she said no not so far. She then mentioned BG's 22% price rise and she said;
"I thought we were bad(14.7% gas and 4.7% electricity) but BG really is ridiculous(22% on both)"
I said that I agreed giving the amount of press recently about enormous profits.
we then talked about London Energy's own cap till 2008 and she said that I'd be mad to go on to it! Good for standard tariff but not internet tariff.0 -
jem - very interesting this, thanks. I'm with EDF but only since Nov/Dec last and I hope/think I'm on the Online tariff.
Could I bother you for the phone number you used to get your personal confirmation (post 7) please as I'd like to check. I've not yet had any bills, though one is due soon I think.0 -
even if the online tariff goes up eventually by the same %ages, because my elec bill is higher it would only work out as a 9% rise overall. Could be worse.0
