2 for 1 days out in London - cheapest train tickets??

Hi there,
Myself and the missus are off to London next weekend and plan to go to either London Zoo or London Dungeon (depending on the weather!). We've downloaded the 2 for 1 vouchers from www.daysoutguide.co.uk but the only problem is that we're travelling by bus, not train, but need valid train tickets in order to use the voucher.
Can anybody recommend a national rail station which we can use as our station of origin and buy a couple of very cheap tickets please? A quid or so each would be great! Obviously I'll buy the tickets online in advance.
Thanks for your help!

depending where you are might be cheaper to get a 1 day travel card then you can use it on trains buses and tube in the 6 zones in you are close(ish) to london0

i think martin mentions this, you just need any cheap single ticket to then get the 2 for 1 deal, i would sugest you check the t's n c's on the 2 4 1 web sitesmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

London Charing Cross to London Bridge overground is £2 for a single. Or London Waterloo East to London Bridge is the same. London Bridge is where the London Dungeon is. Although as pointed out above you could get a travelcard if this is viable for you and use that.Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0

You need to buy the Travelcard from a train station as the ones issued at Tube stations and elsewhere aren't eligible for the 2-4-1 offers0

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated!0

Do you need two valid tickets, or is one enough?0

Well the T&Cs say that you need two valid rail tickets... not sure how stringent the checks will be but I'd rather spend another couple of quid and not risk it, you know?0
