comparethemarket

For months i have been pestered by 'silent' calls etc but lately they have been less frequent.
I have just looked on comparetm for building and contents insurance and what do you know, within minutes I have a silent call from, you guessed it, comparetm. Well at least when I looked up the number on whocallsme.com loads of others have the same problem.
I have ticked the 'do not contact me in anyway whatsoever' boxes.
Is that the hidden cost of using comparison sites?

I've had this problem with the phone calls when doing my car insurance quotes on a number of comparison sites - and i've checked the terms and conditions on CTM, Money Supermarket, GoCompare and others and they all say you may be contacted whether you opt out or not.

There is a way to avoid them though! When you put in your details in, you will be asked when your renewal is. The trick is - make sure you put the same date as when your doing your quotes. I cant think why a company would call you the day after renewal.

NEVER, EVER put a wrong number in as it might be mine and I wouldn't be very happy! If your happy to put a wrong number in then be prepared to receive calls from other people who do the same thing!!

One final thought - getting a couple of calls back from insurers certainly beats spending hours on the phone giving details over an over....
