Kitten or adult food for 7-9mth cat?

Our cat is between 7-9 months old. We were told a rough age for her when we got her from the cat rescue place but our vet says he thinks she's a couple of months younger.

Anyway, we are feeding her kitten pouches but I was wondering whether we should move her on to adult food?

Thoughts?

We got our own cat when he was about 7 months old. We started on kitten food then we he was about 1 year gradually introduced adult food.

    Hope that helps

  • my young man refused to eat anything apart from go-cat biccies when he was little! he is now a year old and eats anything :D . he is healthy and strong so i don't think it makes much difference.

not sure what is in the kitten food but it is in smaller pieces so it is easier to eat.

i guess if you feed quality food it will not matter (and before anyone says anything i know that go-cat is the equivalent to mcdonalds but he wouldnt eat anything else!)
it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:

Mine are 7months and get a mixture of Tesco finest tins, Natures Menu Kitten, Hills kitten chicken wet and dry, raw meat and Encore.

    Tins are cheaper than pouches

if you can get her onto dry - much cheaper but online for most food is cheapest. I recommend Burns - they do both adult & kitten food.

our vets recommended kitten food up to a year old as it has all the nutrients they need for all the growth and bouncing about kittens do! also the pieces are smaller for smaller mouths!
