They are taking the p*** - but no fuel surcharges !
Just what sort of cretins does O'Leary take us for ? It amazes me why people fly with this bunch of sharks. You can often get pretty close to his (Total) prices with real airlines.
Last time I went to Spain BA were cheaper - with full in flight service included !0

Ryanair won't be selling many overpriced drinks anymore.:rotfl: :rotfl:
 From BBC:
"Charging people to go to the toilet might result in fewer people buying overpriced drinks on board, though - that would serve Ryanair right."
How about 50p for a pee. £1 for a big one and £5 if you're desperate and need
 to jump the queue!0

we had a good one on tuesday in Malaga when they switched the sign for priority/non-priority boarding round just as they were about to start boarding so everyone was stood at the wrong side! As we'd only paid £80 for the 4 flights I didn't feel like paying nearly half as much again for priority boarding but luckily we just happened to be passing the gate when they put it up on the TV that it was the East Midlands flight. How do people know which gate it is? On the screens it said boarding gate c but no number but within about 2 minutes of it appearing at the gate itself everyone appeared to be in the queue. If you check in at the airport as opposed to on line do they tell you at check in?0

Working in your field, I'm sure you have some interesting stories to tell.
I'll await your coming book with great anticipation, phatbear.0

Perhaps it will be £1 for normal users of the toilet, but for £2.50 people could upgrade to be a "speedy" toilet user, thereby jumping any queues!
I guess they will be charging for sick bags as well.
I have seen places selling "car loos" which are basically a bag of water absorbing crystals - perhaps this would be a way for the chaps at least to get round this little problem (apart from not sitting in departures drinking as much beer as possible in the two hours between check in and departure).0

I'm amazed at the stupdity of the media who take O'Liary on face value when he comes out with lines like this. He is taking the mickey, but because he has such extreme views sometimes, they take everything he says as serious.
You can't run pay toilets on a flight. It is a requirement for passengers to have access to toilet facilities. Same minimum is free access to water which Ryanair crew will reluctantly provide for free if pushed.
Once again the media has bitten on a soundbite and he must be having a field day with the publicity. For every customer who vows 'never again' about Ryanair, there will be a fair few more who will get sucked in with a cheap fare...0

It's ironic. You spend a penny for the flight, but you spend a pound to spend a penny.
In fact this item has been blown out of all proportion. O'Leary was on BBC Breakfast to explain about getting rid of check in desks to reduce costs. The presenter asked him from the angle of only allowing carry on bags and O'Leary corrected her by explaining that pax could still check in bags but they would do so online and not have to queue up. He then pointed out that Ryanair were trying to reduce ticket prices by charging for discretionary items - like the use of the toilets. At which point the BBC presenter latched onto that and all news programmes since then latched onto it.0

I think to charge for using their toilets is definitely taking the p**s0
