Made redundant - owed a months wages they may refuse to pay

Thanks for your replies. In the end got my money, weeks notice and holiday pay despite being there only 3 months. Heard from another employee that he wanted me happy as he was really taking a gamble on making me redundant as he wanted one of us to be a 'standby' casual for when he is busy - ie only getting paid when he was short staffed - he thought I would be the most likely to swallow this! Tried to get me back for some cash in hand assuming I would snap it up but got another job so hope he is sorry now - he was practically begging me to 'help him out'!
I'm sure lots of employers are thinking of this tactic?0
