ordering London travelcards in advance - warning!
I ordered some 7 day travelcards from the Transport for London website on 2 Feb (for half-term trip to London with kids) and I still haven't got them.

I've since discovered this is because all advance orders for travelcards are handled by Keith Prowse Tickets, which is based in Northern Ireland - and there's a postal strike on. NO mention of that on the site, and apparently they walked out on 31 January! And there I was thinking I was being efficient by paying for my holiday travel in advance. I've been promised that if I don't get them before I leave, I can a) buy some more at any London underground station, and b) claim back the full cost from Keith Prowse Tickets. I'll keep you posted.

Before you criticise a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you do criticise him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes.
