Anyone have any idea what sort of offers Virgn are offering at the moment to existing customers looking to do balance transfer? and do they typically have a restriction on how much you can transfer, i.e 90% of your credit limit, etc.

Well I just rung and they offered me 1.9% APR for six months, with 2% fee, but the fee would be capped at £35 for my account. Now I just worked it out and it looks like a good way to go. Using the snowball calculator, at 1.9% I’d pay £43.99 in interest over those 6 months, plus a £35 fee, so in total £78.99, where as with Barclaycard, even if the whole balance was at 6.9% APR (which its not as £1500 is at 19.7% APR) then I would be paying £161.60 in interest over the same 6 months, so even with that scenario I'd still be paying over £82 more interest with Barclaycard. I think I'll take the 1.9% offer if its still available (claimed that technically the offer ended when the call did, but would note it on the account  ), although it'll run out before my Egg 0% anniversary in Oct, I could for 2 months transfer the balance again to Barclaycard and then to Egg in October.0

No I just explained I was interested in a B/T and asked what offers/rates they have at the moment. I can’t believe they tried to claim they didn’t have different rates for different people. It’s a well know fact they do just that. That’s why they usually say a ‘typical’ rate, but rates are dependent on individual circumstances, etc. I do have a very good credit score tho, (despite all the debt I’ve never defaulted on a payment, paid late, gone overdrawn, etc) so perhaps thats helped me get a preferential rate?kingkano wrote:1.9 nice. did you say anything special to get that rate?? they talked to me like a leper yesterday sayign what did I think they had special rates for certain people.... yes I said!! lol0 -

My Virgin cc finished it's 0% offer a few months ago. I have made a small purchase each month and paid it off immediately - even before a new statement was issued. Today I had a phone call offering me "something point nine percent interest" if I wanted to do another BT. Sorry but her accent was so broad I didn't hear what came before the .9% ! I declined and said I had no need of a BT. She praised the way I was managing my account (!!) and said I could pay the money straight into my current a/c. I was offered a straightforward stooze!
When I declined again (not in the market for stoozing) she tried to sell me payment protection - on a zero balance. It just seemed a really bizarre call."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0
