Please help me get my money back!

In July we are going on holiday to Turkey in a party of 14.

My parents and I do not have drive and so transport options to and from the aiports are limited. We decided it would be better if we got an earlier (daytime) flight and paid aproximately £100 more for this as the other 11 people were travelling on a night flight and they have transportation (they drive).

The problem lies that our flight was cancelled as was the flight that the other 11 people were travelling on - we have all been put on the same flight now (which is good..) except that we have paid £300 more for this. Is there a way we can retreive this money back?

I know this sounds simple but have you asked for your money back, because I would have thought its classed as a major change (day flight tonight flight)
If you have already asked for your money back I would just keep on at them, keep phoning different people in the head office and get in touch with ABTA

If its more than 12 hour change then its classed as a major change(and i am sure you are entitled to a full refund). Why dont you go on to the Holiday Truths website and see if you can find out more.

That is the problem it's a 'minor' change - however an unneccessary one as if I had remained on the original night flight (the one I did not have) that flight was also cancelled and moved onto the same one that I have. However my problem is I paid £300 extra for daytime flights. Basically I have paid £300 for something I would have had anyway so I would like it back.

I would go over to the holiday truths site and ask about it either in the complaints or flight section.

  • The way I read it-You paid extra for a daytime flight. They cancelled it and gave you another daytime flight maybe 1 or 2 hours difference. MINOR change but you have still got what you asked and paid for. The others on the other hand may not have paid as much, but theirs is a MAJOR change ie Night to day. So in effect they have been UPGRADED (sort of). Youve really still got what you paid for so I wouldn't really think you are entitled to much,if anything
Sorry-probably not what you want to hear
  • to be fair ...put all 3 of the flight times down on here and let's have a look
