nope - dull, but fine.
35 minute flight (how mad is that?!), 15 minutes on train to Piccadilly.
Right - for those walking from the station - it's not far but I got lost so using the direction on the Days website
Leave the station following the taxi signs.
Look across the road to the Bull pub and cross over to it. Go down South Pump St NOT Lower Pump St as marked on the directions!! Go under the railway bridge and immediately turn right, walking past the road barrier. You will walk along a pedestrianised area with University buildings all on your left and railway arches on your left. At the end you will be at the Gatehouse (called security office on the directions). You are opposite the Retro bar. A couple of doors past there is the Manchester Conference Centre - Days Hotel is in this building but the sign is poor.
I'm on 'level 3' but bizarrely, outside the window is ground level - most odd!
The hotel is amazing. A conference type hotel. The rooms are modern, lots of plum and bronze. The receptionist is fab. I've had a wander and found the hotel bar. Haven't seen a Spar/One Stop type shop so I'm not going to wander out to find any cheap wine for tonight as it's now dark.
Think I will get a shower and if there is anyone else checking in tonight, if they tell reception, I'll meet them in the bar, otherwise I might stay in the room and get a bottle of (probably extortionate) wine from the bar."Stay Wonky":D
