Is this fair?
I had a direct debit due from British Gas. I didn't have enough money in my account to pay it. The payment was declined and I incurred a £40 charge for NOT paying the direct debit.
It was re-submitted a few days later, and again there was not enough money in my account to pay it. I incurred another £40 charge for NOT paying.
£80 for not honouring direct debits...how does this cost Abbey £80?
I am happy to pay a few quid to cover the admin costs, but £80 does seem a
rather high fee.
