Hi Guys,
Wondering if anyone knows why when I applied for my capital one card in December they searched my Equifax & Experian.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Bank Accounts - Barlcays Premier[/B] - £1000 o/d, HSBC - £200 o/d- First Direct - £500
Credit Cards - Barclaycard £2000 - Silver Card £1300 - Flybe £7500 - HSBC £1000 - First Direct £2500 First Direct Gold £3000
6 credit accounts closed in 2010!

Not quite understanding the question.
Are you saying that when you applied for a new credit card the company credit searched you?MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Yes, Capital One searched Experian and Equifax when I applied for a credit card.0 -
Two searches = twice as much data to make their decision...0

Does it matter?
You give them permission to make any checks they need. I think they use both as a matter of course.0 -
they can check all 3 if they like.
the searches will only come up once on each file though.0 -
They normally search both or all 3 as sometimes all CRA do not hold exactly identical info.
It is to ensure that nothing is hidden from them0 -
I sincerely hope you do not need to ring Equifax.They appear to have a keep you waiting a long time policy before you can cancel your subscription.They obviously thought I was using their 0870 number so I emailed them instead.I thought 0870 numbers were going to be banned?0

0870, 0871, 0844, and 0845 are widely used by credit card providers, not to mention banks and insurance companies.
As from 15 Feb 2009, customers with a BT package now get 0870 and 0845 numbers free though.;)People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
