Cancelling McAfee security

Options
I have been trying for weeks to cancel my McAfee subcription with AOL for weeks now, via phone and e-mail. My advice is dont get one. It slowed up my computor and i uninstalled it straight away and , as i thought cancelled the payment. That was in October. They have continued to take out the £2.99 every month.AOL Broadband dont want to know. They say i have to deal with AOL UK LTD
The bank said they cant cancel it as it is on a visa card .
I feel like someone is just helping themselves to £2.99 every month.
Has anyone got the address of AOL UK Ltd please?

If it was me ~ id DEMAND my bank cancels the money coming out
    Its YOUR money !!!!!!

Then when you get a letter telling you that you owe them money, tell them you cancelled MONTHS ago (And print off the email you sent and any other details you can)

This is the link you need:

It often gets overloaded so you might have to try it at different times of the day but it worked for me!

It sounds as if beaver10 has a 'continuous Credit Card authority' in force. You can't cancel those - nor can the card issuer. Only the company taking the money can. They are not a good idea.

Direct Debit is the only safe way to make this sort of regular payment. DDs can be cancelled by the account holder, and the bank is liable for any errors.

  • If you purchased McAfee via AOL, and you are an AOL Broadband customer do a search for "AOL UK McAfee cancel" and you will see the link to cancel. (I can't post the link here as I am a first time poster to these message boards so am not allowed to have links in my post)

If you purchased McAfee via AOL and you are not an AOL Broadband customer call McAfee to cancel on 020 7949 0107

And finally, before you cancel your McAfee subscription, make sure you have alternate protection on your PC to ensure you stay protected online. Have a look at the Get Safe Online site to learn more about keeping your privacy and identity safe online. Get Safe Online is a UK government backed campaign and national initiative to teach citizens about online security. (Just do a search for "Get Safe Online" to learn more).

Which? Magazine also has some great reviews of competing security providers. McAfee does very well (as does Norton) for all round security.
