Housing benefit

Im currently getting Housing Benefit from Hounslow Council, but have to move into the next borough which is Richmond, the new house isnt even half a mile away from where i am now, can i move into a diffrent borough and apply for housing benefit, and whats the likely hood of me getting it.

    HB does not exist any more - you will be claiming LHA - Local Housing Allowance. You get an entitlement based on your circumstances.

  • Your LHA is also based on the area (Broad Rental Market Areas (BRMAs) ) you live in; so if you are single you only qualify for a 1 bed place; if you are married with 1 boy and 1 girl you get a 3 bed allowance; and each area has differing mean rents

    Saying that if you can find a place to rent that is a few ££ cheaper; then you get ot keep the differnce

    Yes if your circumstances remain the same then you should still be entitled to it.
