test drive - no paper part of licence

Supposed to be test driving a car tomorrow.
Just gone to where I keep my documents. It's not ther. TBH have no idea when I last had the paper part. I keep the photo bit in my purse.
Will they let me take it for a drive?

some garages will, some wont
ive been on test drives without them even looking or asking about a licence
other times they have wanted utlility bills etc0 -
I never ask my customers for them, tho I should really.0
