Changing Paypal address after listing ended ?

Is it possible to change the Paypal email address that an ended item is linked too ?

I won an item this afternoon, but the seller has spelt Tiscali wrong in Paypal, so the payment will not get through.

I have tried paying direct to the correct address via Paypal, but if i say it is an eBay purchase (which I want to for the protection) it will only pay the incorrect address.

Have searched eBay help pages, but can only find about changing the address whilst creating a listing.

Have suggested that the seller "requests" funds via their Paypal account, selecting eBay item, in the meantime.

Thanks.

  • you can get the details of the seller through ebay, go into the site map... on right hand side under title connect...go on find a member... then on the left it will say members and then click on find contact information... you have to be in the process of a buying/selling with them and put in their id and the ebay item number it should then send you an email with their telephone number.... worth giving them a call or drop a letter off asap to explain... i had something similar and it took me ages to realise why i wasnt getting paid :)

Thanks erestar - we are emailing on the matter, and i've just asked them to log onto their paypal account and "request funds", which should resolve.

Hi, the same situation has happened to me, the seller wrote their email address wrong and now they're saying they can't get paypal to release the funds. They've just emailed me saying that the only way it can be resolved is if I cancel the current transaction and then go through paypal again but just send it their email address. I'm worried though that I'm not protected through ebay if I do this, but I'm not sure what the consequences are as I haven't used EBAY much. Any advice?

I've insisted that mine logs onto their Paypal account and uses "request funds", selecting the eBay items option to send me a new invoice.

That way I should be able to pay and retain the protection.

Recommend that you do the same.

Update: sucessfullly paid using this method.
