I don't know why you think it doesn't have a pin, I used my Tesco Clubcard for several years to pay for my shopping with a pin and can check it online...

The Tesco Clubcards became chip and pin.

The Tesco Clubcard Plus staid the same. You pay into the card account each month and then spend the money from you card each time you shop.

Mind you how many people will think to sign/ forge the signature to withdraw the money now we've moved on to chip and pin.

If you do find out you can have chip and pin with this type of account please do let us/me know as I would be looking to change my card.

As long as the cash point doesn't swallow it, leaving you no means of doing the weeks shopping.

I've had a clubcard plus account for years as I do the bulk of my shopping at Tescos and it was convenient to pay a direct debit to it each month and use the card for shopping. Originally it paid 2% interest on the balance and you got double points when using it. I suspect these benefits no longer exist (especially the 2% interest!!!) but I can't find any mention of the Clubcard Plus account on Tesco website at all - it seems they don't want it publicised. Does anyone know whethr they still give double points on use, if they don't I think I'll probably use a cashback credit card instead for my shopping in futuire.

I can confirm you still get extra point for every pound spent using your clubcard plus card and if you look at bottom of your receipt it shows the points total previously collected as TPF Bonus Points :)
  • Hi. I've had clubcard plus for years now n love it. The pin u get is for use in Tesco cash machines, u can check balance or withdraw etc. These don't need a chip n work off the magnetic strip as do some regular bank savings cards. Tesco tills tho do not use the pin n it can only be used by signing for it. I recently called them about it n they r not planning to introduce chip n pin to this particular card as u would then be able to use it in other shops. U can top up thru the month either by phoning them or at the customer service desk. We get loads of extra points from using it n have some great days out using em. Really do recommend it!
  • Hi, is the clubcard plus still available? If so, how? I read about it a few years ago but have never got around to applying. :(
