Dremel-like multi tool

I want one but they're too expensive.
I need a rotary tool specifically for sanding/cleaning (very) small areas of soft metal and hard plastic - modelling. Preferably with one of those flexible extension thingies. Cordless nice but not a requirement.
Anyone know of a dremel-like cheaper equivalent or anyone with special offers on at the moment?
There's something on Ebay called a Whirlwind WIzard that looks OK but I can't find any reviews.

Aldi have sold one of these in a carry case with various attachments for something like £13.99. Worth a look if you have one nearby. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Hi there... I use the Dremel mini power tools and attachments myself but as you say they are not the cheapest by any means but very good. Have you looked in the Machine Mart catalogue (they have a web site) - they sell both Dremel and a similar model made by Clarkes. The latter starts at around £25.00. Regards, Michael.

I've had a dremel-like kit for a couple of years now. The only reason I don't use it much is because I don't know what all the bits are for0
