Cancelling A Card

They would write to you if they're cancelled. Normally they hold them open (as it doesn't cost a lot to) in the hope you'll use them one day0

From what I've been told, the total amount of credit available to you is a factor when applying for new credit cards.
I've cancelled a few recently and each time the customer advisor has confirmed that fact regarding credit available.0 -
Based on the above I've recently canceled a card. Do you know how long it takes from the time of cancellation to the time of that available credit being allocated to my credit rating? In other words having canceled I want to be sure it's benefited me before I attempt to apply for another card.0
