defaults

soon i might have to get a mortgage i have got a house which is mortgage free and worth about £200000 i have to give my ex around £60000 so i need to get a mortgage is there any chance of me getting one with 5 defaults on my credit history

    At that loan to value you might be able to. The interest rate and fees will be sky high though

    How old are the defaults?

    The fact the mortgage amount is "only" £60k will mean that even if you can find a mortgage, and the rate is high, it will not impact on you as mcuh as if the mortgage were say £150k

    well 3 of them were back in 2004/05 but 2 are very recent

    Last couple of months?

    Potentially you could be looking at rates around mid 6%, maybe slightly better

    Well, you should be able to get amortgage based on the above figures.

    You haven't posted any other details so difficult to say if you meet all other criteria, but the low LTV is good - so you should have a good chance of getting a mortgage

    No problem

    I wouldn't go diret to lenders down the high street though, as with that credit history you are looking at specialist lenders that deal only with intermediaries.
