understanding my electric bill
hi
after a bit of advice about my electric bill
had been with eon since 02 changed in june 08 for one month as they offered an incentive to come back so i did, well recieved a bill from them in dec 08 first one since i rejoined them (had been asking for a bill but told it takes time to change back)
bill in dec 08 was for £501 high but thought ok as not had a bill since june, well i got another bill on the 19th feb 09 with amended charges saying i owe £901 well phoned them and was told this was the extra charge for when i was not with them could'nt understand this as it was an extra £400 for one month, well it turns out that my low meter reading has been the same figure since 02 but they said not to worry they would sort it out well got new bill and now i owe the £1,101,
if i put my bill on here can someone explain it to me please as am a bit confused
thanks

Sounds as if you've had some estimated bills. Do you have statements with actual (A) readings?
Lots of helpful people here - just post a link to a pic of the bill (with personal details blanked out) or type up here - someone will help.0 -
Make sure you blank out the obvious personal details such as your name and address but also block out the supply number and meter serial number along with any account numbers.0

How does this bill work?Step 1 We cancel the electricity charges from your earlier statements,
and credit all these charges back to you.Step 2 We recalculate your amended electricity charges from these
earlier readings up to your latest readings. Then, we calculate VAT on
the difference between your cancelled charges and amended charges.
Finally, we include the balance from your last statement - we have to
do this as it includes any payments you have made (the charges on
your last statement were credited back as part of your cancelled
charges).A note about VAT - We only calculate VAT on the difference between
your cancelled and amended charges, as we have already calculated
VAT on the cancelled charges and this is included in the balance from
your last statement.PaymentsPayments made since your last bill Total £20 February 2009 Payment received - thank you 100.00 CR

I assume the 18 July readings are when you switched back - that's estimated. Is that accurate - is it the reading used to close your other account (when you switched for a month)?0

It's about a year of usage. Minus the 3 week gap. So looks about right then. Did you make any other payments?
Why did E-on not object to the transfer?:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Hi hanandhen,
I read your thread and can see you are concerned with your E.ON bill. The current balance could be a result of a number of things so it’s difficult to say without seeing more details.
I’m happy to take a look at your account for you and offer some advise; I may be able to explain what’s happened. Just send me a Private Message with your post code and house number and I’ll take a look.
