Affordable Corner Sofa - Any Suggestions?

Anyone seen any good deals on corner sofas? Need to replace old sofa and want to make best use of space but all the ones I have seen are too expensive/too big or have chaise end which doesn't really add much seating. (Available space 250cm x 215cm).

  • What about one of these? If you get a chaise one and buy the footstool then you have more of a corner sofa? I have just bought one but it was from DFS and not what I would call cheap.

Sofasofa have a sale on at the moment as well......

SofaSofa, like DFS, always have a sale on.

Their furniture quality is as bad as DFS, if not worse.
  • Really?! I have only ever heard good things about sofasofa I have to say...

Our old ones were from there, they have lasted us 6 years and have just been replaced with a dfs one...

Maybe I am just excellent at picking out really bad sofa shops?! :rotfl:
  • argos have a lot of half price reductions on corner sofa's - I have no idea of quality since I've never had one, but I've heard that they aren't bad. Only problem being you don't get to see em 'in real life' until they get it to you!

The 2 sofa's that SofaSofa attempted to deliver to me were a disgrace, one of them actually broke as the delivery team turned it on end to bring it through the door. I sent them back on the same van.

As for DFS, only the one's with a 10 year frame guarantee are any good from there, any with less guarantee period are usually of poor quality, my friend works for DFS, his job all day, every day is repairing DFS suites.

Many are actually Chinese imports, these are the poorest quality.

What type of sofa's did you buy from sofa sofa?

I just sent two sofa's back to Tesco because they were made with split leather and after two months, the seat covers have shredded as the leather was paper thin. An independant technician said the leather is not suitable for seats and should only be used for the backs.

I've ordered Aspen sofa's from sofa sofa, but I'm a bit worried now in case I've made another bad buy
Here I go again on my own....

You will have a 21 day return if you don't like them (one very good thing about sofasofa imo, with DFS you can't cancel two seconds after you have signed the blooming form!) so don't worry, I am sure they will be fine - like i say, I have only heard good things about them, and ours lasted a good 6 years (although they needed constant plumping which i didn't do, so they did look flat...yours are leather so I am guessing this won't be a problem?!)

Am sure they will be great.
  • Just thought I'd tell you that we bought two kirkdale sofas ( one of the sofa factories that makes up sofasofa ) in 1995 and are just about to replace them now.
They were very cheap, have been and still are amazingly comfortable to sit on,just the fabric has now seen better days from constant use hence the need to replace them.
I seem to remember a 9pm delivery way back then but if you'll only have to go through that once every 14 years it's no real problem. The company were very efficient and friendly. I'll update you with our new experience when we buy new ones from them in July.

I don't know where you are in the country, but have you looked at CSL sofas?

The cheapest corner sofa is just £599!

We got a leather recliner sofa from them 2 years ago for about £400-500 and it is still going strong - used every day a lot!!!! It was a fantastic service and would definitely buy from them again.
