I would:
Bring back the 10% tax rate. Too many women in part time work have been stung by that one and whatever Gordon says to the contrary, they ain't better off now.
Not only teach financial education in school I'd offer it as an adult education subject, this is one topic that its never too late to learn.
Insist on full due-diligence taking place before the government agrees to take over crisis institutions when there are other things they can do to buy time and keep the firm ticking over.
Expect the banks to have people experienced in risk in charge of the Head of Risk roll, not yes men/women.
Structure the government so that if popularity fell below 20% it triggered a general election.
Restructure the perks packages for MPs and MEPs so that accommodation in London is available to all in an empty block of new build flats, bought for the nation at rock bottom price, with the stipulation that they are allowed a maximum of £3000 for furniture and fittings per 5 years in office. I'd also restructure their pension scheme while I'm at it.
Allow councils to keep the now modest remaining receipts from council house sales to use for building new council houses.
Edited to add: sorry - that's many more than one but I'm greedy and p'd off. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Dunno, but hoping that men will now be convinced that young blondes aren't "all that" and they're actually expensive to run ... and what they really need is a regular, reliable frugal woman... that'd do nicely.Graham_Devon wrote: »
Would it be something to do with regulation, houses, government etc?

People who dont indicate on roundabouts too, I'd give them 20 years hard labour.
Spelling police on the interwebz, they should be banned, or at least told they arnt impressing anyone, AND I MEAN ANYONE!
Oh and them bicycle box things at traffic lights, !!!!!! are they all about? They go all the way across the road but bikes just sit there on the left, who the F*ck thought that up as a good way to spend tax money?
Oh and them plastic thing on electrical plug prongs, what?why?!!!!!!? que?
An excellent post. I agree with every word. Especially the bike bit as I've often wondered that myself.
(By the way, it's "achieve", not "acheive".)0 -

Or how many little old ladies scrimped to pay their council tax just to cover the biscuit bill for the Thursday meetings.Graham_Devon wrote: »able to relate say, MP's expenses to the cost of the NHS, side by side.0 -

Well, they are all well thought out, considered, intelligent ideas that I fully agree with and believe would actually make a huge difference.
But I think amcluesent's idea of sending 'smelly foreigners' home shows real out of the box thinking when dealing with these complex issues and would have more positive outcomes. Must try harder next time Viva.
Will reply to your PM very soon too (I love being able to say that - people will think we're flashing each other via webcam or something).0 -

Crikey - we'd be having an election every other week then...0 -
There is very little adult education left... I've been looking. I wanted to take A level maths the other year, it didn't exist as an evening class in the WHOLE of my county. Now I've moved to a city, had a quick look and no A level Maths evening classes to be found. And it's nearly £300 by distance learning (when I wanted to actually get out into a classroom, not read a book at home alone).vivatifosi wrote: »Not only teach financial education in school I'd offer it as an adult education subject, this is one topic that its never too late to learn.0 -

Plzthx.
Nah, they prefer something hanging on their arm that makes them look wealthy and high in the pecking order. Splash out a bit, glam up and they'll come running. Predictable things really.0
