  • I need some advice people, I have just called Samsung about my problems they said it would be covered under Warranty but i need proof of purchase which i threw away just last month when i had new carpet put in, but i do have a bank statement that has the purchase on it.

Where do i stand with my rights? please help.
  • Then the bank statement is the proof of purchase !
  • ok then then i am in a pickle Samsung now say its not under warranty ended 2 months ago, just wondering what rights i have under the sales of goods act?

You will need proof of purchase and a bank statement should suffice.

Have you had it over 3 years then ?
  • I have had it for 3 years and 2 months so i just fall out the warranty period with samsung. so i believe i now have to take this up with PC World.

The problem i have seem to be something wrong with electrical problem on starting the monitor, so when i come to switch on each day i now have to wait 30 mins for the thing to come in that time i get a popping sound with the power coming on and off.

I would i have any rights under the sales of goods act?

Sales of goods act says an item should last a reasonable amount of time, as you have had it over 3 years i think that would be reasonable IMO.

I would have a word with Consumer Direct http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/

    I think 3+ years service isn't bad.
And monitors have gone way down in price; you can buy a very good one for around the £100 mark these days.
