Sky have no concerns whatsover with existing customers, we are moving house some time in 4-6 weeks and I explained to them this and asked what offers do they have to keep me as an existing customer when i moved house (Free installation and a sky+ box), but instead was told there will be an £80 installation fee to move house and £199 for a sky plus box, I have refused to pay this and threatened to cancel service earlier than 6 weeks time and they did try to get my new address.

On this matter - I had a similar situation 2 years ago when I moved house. In the end I re-rang customer services, told them that I was unhappy with their over-expensive service and cancelled it at my old address. Then I moved home and a week later had a friend refer me to sky - I started a new contract with a free dish, free installation, free sky box and the full package for 3 months at my normal basic package rate.

I'm torn with this just now; I really want sky plus, so do I get it for free with 3 months half price, or do I wait until it becomes free again (IIRC it did around christmas) on the website and then sign up through quidco to get 50 quid, if that deal is still on.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmm
    Shuffle up and deal!
  • you have to be a new costomer remember

does the refered friend have to take out the offer in order for you to get it cheap?

I don't get anything for this referral, it is only any good to those wishing to take out sky+ who don't already have a subscription with sky.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

I was meaning if my refered friend is my brother, does he have to take the offer up in order for me to get my discount etc
A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.

I don't understand your post, the person who wants sky+ and doesn't already have a subscription telephones sky and gets this offer, there is nothing, no discount, nothing for the person who refers them.

So beware trying to get a deal with sky, I will be using "FEBPLUS" code and if its refer a friend my father in law will be the referrer i sure he will love sky plus box. There loss my gain, but why do they not care about there customers.

    Sorry for my rant.

When we moved house we canceled the existing sky and applied for sky+ but under my OH's name insted of mine, it works a charm as a "new" customer

Did you have to pay for sky+ as we are moving soon and we only have normal sky and it is under my wifes name,So i could get brand new system when we move under my name?

It cost £50 as a new customer instead of £149 as an existing customer, not exactly free but you do get 3 months half price subscription as well, so in a round-a-bout way you could say it's free. We had normal sky when we moved and we still have the old system. You can get a card that changes it to free view, I havent looked into how the set up works or how much the card costs though.
