Cheeky ING Trick!

I've recently been sent mailshots at both my house and my parents', advertising ING's internet savings account with a great rate. However - READ THE SMALL PRINT! It states "rate correct at 1/1/06". It certainly was then - but dropped the day after by 0.5%. I opened an account with them in November so I was emailed, but I just thought I'd post here in case anyone else is tempted, as they're still blatantly advertising it.

Without seeing the mailshot I cannot disagree but ING dropped their rate to 4.5% AER in mid December.

LOL.. theyve been biotching about other companies doign this... talk about pot calling the kettle

The Bonus Bonanza - Then there are the bonus-driven accounts. These appeared to offer fairly high rates of interest, but a substantial part of that interest was an introductory “bonus” which only lasted a few months. The advantage for the company is that these accounts allow them to advertise high rates on their posters and leaflets, but then they are able to drop the rates legitimately after a very short period of time.
