you are drawing all the power for these from your motherboard, used to happen on my older machine all the time until I got an external self powered (mains) hubEx forum ambassador

any way around it? the only ports on my pc are 1.1 so trying to upgrade to 2.00

not really, you can try a usb 2.0 powered hub on the PCI card but there is no way round the motherboard problem without upgrading thatEx forum ambassador

what if i disconnect the existing usb 1.1?0

no, the limit is on the Max amount of power that the motherboard will let you draw, mine would crash with anything else plugged in apart from the BB modemEx forum ambassador

Why don't you try leaving your modem plugged into the existing USB 1.1 port and use you new USB 2. PCI card for other devices? I doubt if your modem would benefit from USB 2. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

WOuld a new Power Unit help?
If so I would probably consider getting one! My USB 2.0 Card works with some devices, and others not!
I think it's something to do with the power again! Any way to give priority power to my USB 2.0 card, rather than my onboard USB?
Thanks,
Matt.0
