I have been searching for a good priced reliable adsl wireless router for my brother through reviews at ebuyer, amazon and dabs but have yet to find one that stands out above the rest.
Anyone know of or seen one I may have missed?
Cheers everyone.

Never owned one untill this week.
I purchased the DG834GT 108Mbps Wireless ADSL Modem Firewall Router with 4-port
10/100 switch"
Says you can install in 5 clicks.
And it was correct, run first time no problems.
My new laptop found the network straight away.
Works a treat.
Bought from Amozan for £59.99 but brother inlaw informs me it had gone up in price yesterday.0 -
I have this one, I bought it the other day and set it up in 20 mins, great bargain aswell if you have an additional PC or lappy to go wireless as it comes with a wireless dongle

Cargo, have you setup WPA encryption?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Do the routers mentioned here have a usb connector to the router as my adsl modem has this and not ethernet?
Thanks for your help.0 -

No but as they have a modem built in, you simply ditch the junk USB modem!

Can anyone tell me if this adsl router has a usb port or will connect through an adsl phone line please?
amazon
It seems to have very good reviews.0 -
Routers don't generally use USB ports but the built-in modem connects your phone line and then the router connect to your computers via 10/100 ports or via wireless.
I agree that it does get good reviews and Netgear has a good reputation with a 2 year warranty. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Thanks for your helpful reply.
I have been adding the item I mentioned above to my basket along with the free usb adaptor mentioned below the item/with the code, but it is saying:
This order does not meet the eligibility requirements for this offer. Please refer to the details in your promotional offer for further information.
Anyone see where I am going wrong

I think it's because the link for the adapter goes to one sold by a seller (flash_memory) and so it doesn't meet conditions of offer. If you click on the "14 new and used" on the adapter page then click the "new" tab and find the amazon one (£26.48) and add that to basket , then use code it seems to give £22.54 off.

Isn't it cheaper at pcworld (see iwantosave's link) if you use pick up instore?0 -
The picture on Amazon is version1 of the router (an old model, big and silver). The newer model dg834Gv2 is much neater, half the size, and white.
Amazons picture may just be old, but something to be aware of..
