Take the case of a pensioner who might have a savings account worth £10,000. Less than eight months ago, they would have been receiving 6% interest. Today they would be lucky to earn 1%.
Now that amounts to the equivalent of a cut of £10 a week in their income

lol - he's talking about "living off the interest". I won't start that huge debate here, just refer to this lengthy thread instead.

Are we supposed to feel sorry for this guy? Clearly he has his money in the wrong place if he's getting £6.40 a month on £30k and 48p on £20k. He should just move the cash somewhere else and quit moaning.

Maybe moving it might be a good idea...?
