So biased organisation accuses organisation it is biased against of bias.
I think one has to make a distinction between an overtly political organisation such as a thinktank which is funded by its supporters and the BBC which supposed to be impartial and is funded by everyone who owns a TV (under threat of imprisonment).

To be fair to the BBC, they are always going to get accused of bias from one group or another. A report that they comissioned a couple of years ago did find evidence of bias, although the BBC reject claims that they are "institutionally biased" - see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6764779.stm

Sorry..........I thought we were playing a game.

Name someone associated with the BBC and then name their political persuasion.

I think everything I read/watch is biased... because it is.

It's inevitable the majority of media professionals will have a Liberal bent, afterall an enlighted informed view is necessarily Liberal.

  • nothing new in any accusation the that the BBC is biased.
while churchill edited the short-lived 'british gazette' during the one and only general strike this country has ever engaged in (1926) BBC radio came under serious fire from old labour for its pro-gov stance (tory, obviously).
you can just imagine some impeccably rec'd pronunciated broadcaster daring to question the gov. of the day.

impartial reportage, regardless of the charter? you must be joking!
  • Of course the BBC is biased. Its part of the "media" - to mediate, to retell. The BBC gets called biased towards the government by people who think it should adopt the Hate Mail's editorial line, and towards the Tories who have never forgiven it for the sexed up dossier story.

Remember that in the 80s it was seen as a mouthpiece for the Tories - I think a lean towards the government goes with the terriroty.

Then again Sky leans towards Murdoch's business interests. Its all biased.
